At the beginning of the season, after coming off a stellar campaign in 2011-12 that saw the team make it to the NFC Championship game, most thought the 49ers would have an easy road to a second straight NFC West title and another shot at the NFC championship.
But the 49ers and Seahawks (both 4-2 SU and 4-2 ATS) head into Week 7 locked in a three-way tie for first place in the division with the Arizona Cardinals.
Seattle and San Francisco are both 5-5 SU and the Seahawks are 6-4 ATS in the past 10 meetings, but the 49ers won both meetings last season, beating the ‘Hawks 19-17 in their last meeting on Dec. 24 but falling just short of cashing as a 2.5-point road favorite, and winning 33-17 on Sept. 11, covering as a 6-point home favorite.
And the 49ers have extra motivation, besides top spot in the division, heading into this matchup.
The 49ers were thumped 26-3 by the New York Giants on Sunday, failing to cover the spread as a 7-point home favorite. It was the team’s worst defeat under coach Jim Harbaugh.
Seattle, meanwhile, is coming off a big upset, as it came back to beat Tom Brady and the New England Patriots 24-23 on Sunday, cashing as a 4-point home underdog.
San Francisco is 9-2 SU in its last 11 games at home, and is 17-5 SU in its last 22 games overall.
